“Katika” – The Waterfall

Adventure !!!

A new found hobby. I never knew that this hobby of mine will lead me to something great. It happened so quick that I got addicted to it – “Adventure“. Introduction to Rappelling, Trekking, Rock Climbing were more like terminologies of Rocket Science.

Attending a few programs conducted by Adventure Club of Andhra Pradesh (ACAP) changed me. Confidence, Patience, Energy – these 3 words became a part of my life. These words are the base of any adventure activity.

Patience gives us strength, the thought of quitting is kicked out of the mind. This leads to building Confidence from within and your trust increases the balance between body & mind. Once the balance is formed the exertion of Energy gets transformed to conservation. Once these 3 are put in place we start doing wonders… 😀

After an initial stage , I participated in the Eastern Ghats Trekking Expedition organized by YHAI to test my limits….

Eastern Ghats Trekking Expedition

This 5 day trek was flagged off from YHAI, Visakhapatnam. On the first  & second day we visited some well known places in Visakhapatnam (RK Beach, Kailasagiri, Rushikonda) , a  5 km beach trek on the sands of Bheemili beach and reached Sivalingapuram (Base Camp). The actual trek started the following day, it was pitch dark at 5 am. After walking through the woods for about an hour we could see the rays of sun showing us the path. After catching a glimpse of sunrise we moved on to reach our destination. I don’t remember how quickly the next 2 days had passed through the beautiful landscapes and we finally reached the Borra Caves (magnificent limestone formations).

The organizers informed we would be visiting a waterfall and it would be a tough trek the next day. We started of early in the morning and passed through the mesmerizing valleys, the green pastures all along the way. Finally we came across the waterfall, far away from us, yet the glimpse of the waterfall relieved us all. We went ahead of the team to check the waterfall as the route was very difficult. The place was damp and the chillness increased all of a sudden as the water droplets was being blown towards us by the wind, we felt as if we were being showered with flowers!!!  The sight of the huge waterfall sent shivers through the body. The worst part was to search the start point of the waterfall, the path was impossible, risky as no one ever had tried it before. It took nearly 2 hours to climb up to the point.

The view from the top was simply “Out of the World ” 🙂

The beautiful landscapes of the valley gave me some sort of relief, which is hard to explain. The first hand experience was really amazing. It was green all around and the sound of the engine mixed with the cool breeze gave me a very special feeling. The vibrations of sound did touch my heart and I was in LOVE with this natural beauty. The eagerness to visit new places has just started. I did leave the place however the hunger had just started……

  1. I do believe all of the ideas you’ve presented for your post.
They are really convincing and will definitely work. Still,
the posts are very brief for beginners. May just
you please extend them a little from subsequent time?
    Thanks for the post.

  2. I don’t even know the way I ended up right here,
but I assumed this submit was once great. I don’t understand
who you’re but definitely you are going to a famous blogger in the event you aren’t already.
